Melissa’s Experience with Williamsburg

I learned a lot by just being in Williamsburg. It was set in colonial time (1700s). there wasn’t one big thing that was memorable, it was the little tid-bits that made it educational. We got to see blacksmiths, bakers, woodcarvers, printers, and all sorts of other craftsmen. We got a tour of the Governors Palace more of what it would look like in that time period. We got to learn a lot of history that happened at that time. We got to see a magazine (a place where you store guns, gun powder, cannons, swords, ect.). We also got chocolate with about 5 different spices in it and we also got to try it in liquid form Smile! We got to see some reenactments of some arguments and of the like. But we did see some sort of a ceremonial event with guns and CANNONS!!

Later in the day we went to the bakery and got giant cookies!! There were also lots of shopping. They sold things that they would have sold at that time. Like soaps, candles, children’s toys, tea things, ect. All in all I learned a whole bunch and had a blast!
